My sleep stack
Magnesium bisglycinate + apigenin before bed, unchanged since March 2024. The apigenin quiets a racing mind; sleep is generally better with the magnesium.

The stack
- Magnesium bisglycinate — 350 mg (4 caps), before bed · since 2024-03-01, ongoing
- Apigenin — 50 mg, before bed · since 2024-03-01, ongoing
Both have run uninterrupted for over two years. Serum magnesium over that span: 1.9 (2023-12) → 2.0–2.2 (2025); one RBC magnesium check: 4.23 (2025-06).
What I notice
The apigenin is the one I can feel: it settles a racing mind at bedtime, and falling asleep is much easier with it. The magnesium effect is broader and less pinpointable — sleep is simply better with it in the routine.
Self-reported, n=1 — no sleep tracker data behind this, just two years of consistency.
Also tried around sleep
- L-Theanine 200 mg — one night (2025-06), didn't keep it.
- Saffron 50 mg before bed — three weeks (2025-06), didn't keep it.
- Cortisol Manager (2 caps, before bed) — running since 2026-01-30, too early for a verdict.
